Adult Programs

Adults 18+ are invited to audition for the Musique Sur La Mer Community String  Orchestra. This fine ensemble meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 9 PM for music, fun, and an enriching musical experience. The level of performance is specifically for intermediate through advanced level violinists, violists, cellists, and bassists. The orchestra will perform a minimum of 3 – 4 concerts during the concert season.

Auditions are required.

Audition requirements:

• Complete and Return the Audition Application
• Audition form (PDF)   
• Registration form (PDF)
• 2-minute solo or orchestral excerpt of your choice that reflects your highest level of performance PLUS...
• Violins & Violas: 1 Major and 1 Melodic Minor 3 Octave Scales with Arpeggios –  slurring 3 or 4 notes per bow at your fastest, most accurate tempo and again single  bows slowly with vibrato
• Cellos:1 Major and 1 Melodic Minor scale of your choice – slurring 3 or 4 notes per  bow at your fastest, most accurate tempo and again single bows slowly with vibrato
• Contrabasses: 1 Major and 1 Melodic Minor scale of your choice – 2 Octave Scales  with Arpeggios – Whole Single Bows with Vibrato – Medium tempo
