ATMA @ Ford Theater Concert

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th, 8 PM FORD THEATER- FREE FOR ALL MSLM Youth Orchestra members are being hosted for the evening concert at the Ford Theater for an amazing concert starring ATMA, preserving its musical heritage through the performance of ragas—traditional South Indian music built around drones and improvisations that swell and evolve to match the mood of the evening. The group’s name is both an acronym that stands for Alliance for Tradition in Musical Arts and the Sanskrit word for “soul,” a fitting description of their dedication to the legacy of raga and their passionate performances. Featuring principal violinist Aishwarya, the group performs a trio of pieces that blend the range and style of Indian and western instrumentation and whose insistent pulse provides the fuel for a rich and meditative evening. Aishwarya is a former Musique Sur La Mer Youth Symphony member who is now both a Pediatric Neurologist and World Renowned violin virtuoso in South Indian music and jazz! This evening is 100% FREE, including our bus that will take us to the concert. 50 students maximum will be hosted for this special event.  Additional tickets may be purchased for family and friends.
